Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be enrolled as an undergraduate junior or senior in the College of Education and Human Services at the time of award.
  4. Must meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida.
  5. Must major in an area leading to Florida teacher certification.
  6. Must earn a cumulative UNF grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Must enroll full time (12 credit hours) each semester and earn 24 credit hours by the end of each academic year.

Description: This scholarship is available to U.S. students who are enrolled as undergraduate juniors or seniors in the University of North Florida's College of Education and Human Services at the time of the award. Students must major in an area leading to Florida teacher certification and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Recipients are chosen by a selection committee. Students will be notified of their selection status in April or May. Recipients will be recognized at an awards reception in the fall. Students must attend the awards reception as a condition of receiving the scholarship or fellowship. Recipients must meet the following responsibilities: maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and remain in good standing as a student.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, disbursed in equal installments during the fall and spring terms. Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding, if all scholarship requirements have been met. No student will be eligible to receive more than four semesters of scholarship support.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
