Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to attend the University of North Florida.
  3. Must have been classified as a Florida resident for tuition purposes for at least one year preceding the award of aid.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  5. Must enroll as a full-time student (nine or more hours per fall and spring semester for master's students and six or more hours for doctoral). Students must complete 18 or more semester hours per academic year if master's students, or 12 or more semester hours if doctoral students, to maintain the scholarship.
  6. Must have been accepted as a degree-seeking student into a master's or doctoral program.

Description: This award is for Florida students who have been accepted into a master's or doctoral program at the University of North Florida. Competitive applicants will be academically talented and contribute ethnic or gender diversity to specific UNF graduate programs.

Application requirements for the UNF Delores A. Auzenne Fellowship for Graduate Study are:

  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • Resident alien card (if applicable)
Additional Information: The Auzenne Fellowship is designed to assist Florida's state universities in increasing the enrollment of students from underrepresented groups to graduate programs. Competitive applicants will be academically talented and contribute ethnic or gender diversity to specific UNF graduate programs. For example, in fields where males are underrepresented (e.g., nursing, special education), consideration will be given to male applicants. All applicants must have demonstrated initiative in pursuing educational goals and possess the qualifications to assure satisfactory progress toward future educational goals.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, divided into $2,500 installments for fall and spring terms. The award is not available for summer term. The award is renewable for up to one additional year for master's students and three additional years for doctoral students, or until a master's or doctoral degree is obtained, whichever occurs first.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
