Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Tennessee.
  3. Must plan to enroll full time at an accredited college or university.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must graduate from Oneida High School in Oneida, Tennessee.
  6. Must be a high school graduate at time of application.

Additional Information: The Vera and Lawrence Carson Scholarship Fund was created to benefit graduates of Oneida High School. The applicant will be evaluated on his/her scholastic achievement, general aptitude for advanced educational work, seriousness of purpose, financial need, qualities of citizenship, and demonstrated leadership through participation in extracurricular activities at school or in the community. The applicant must have successfully completed the core courses needed for admission to an accredited college or university. The applicant must plan to enroll in a beginning course of study at an accredited not-for-profit college or university of his/her choice within eight months after high school graduation. Evidence of his/her acceptance in the educational institution must be submitted by the candidate to the scholarship committee before the scholarship is awarded.

Award Amount: $2,700 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,700.
