Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming college junior to apply for this undergraduate transfer award. The student must matriculate immediately after obtaining his/her associates degree.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
  6. Must plan to transfer to Western New England College in Massachusetts.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who have completed their associates degree, are members of Phi Theta Kappa and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for this award. Students must plan to transfer to Western New England College in Massachusetts.

Application requirements for the Western New England College Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: To be eligible, a student must matriculate immediately following completion of his/her two-year college degree. The applicant must not have previously obtained a bachelors degree.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, renewable for an additional year as long as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are available online from the Western New England College website. There is not a separate application for this award. A student will be considered upon admission to the college. In addition to the admissions application, the student must submit official transcripts, one academic letter of recommendation, and a personal statement. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but the student is encouraged to apply by Dec. 1 for the spring or July 1 for the fall semester.
