In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be accepted to William Woods University in Missouri.
  2. Must be a high school senior or older.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  6. Must have a high school rank in the top 50 percentile.
  7. Must have a SAT score (CR and M) of 890 or higher, OR an ACT score of 19 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. undergraduate students who are planning to attend William Woods University. This award is automatically available to first-time WWU students.

Application requirements for the William Woods University LEAD Program are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • SAT/ACT scores.
Additional Information: This award is automatically available to first-time WWU students. Students who accept the LEAD award choose to become a part of the LEAD Program and commit themselves to participating, over the course of the academic year, in activities designated as LEAD-eligible activities. These activities may include lectures, films, concerts, intercollegiate athletic events, plays, art exhibits, student organizations, and other events.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually for residential students and $2,500 annually for commuter students, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $15,000.

To be considered for this award, students must apply and be accepted for admission to William Woods University (WWU). A separate scholarship application is not required. Interested students must contact William Woods University admissions by phone, e-mail, mail, or website to request an application packet, or apply online from the college website. As part of the admissions application, students must submit also secondary school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores. The priority deadline for scholarship consideration is Dec. 1. The final deadline to apply for a specific scholarship program is March 1.
