Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be entering his/her sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study, or be enrolled in a graduate program for the upcoming academic year.
  4. Must be a U.S. Army veteran who received an honorable discharge or is in good standing with his/her branch of service.
  5. Must be attending full time at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  6. Must be majoring in one of the following fields: Software Engineering / Computer Science / IT; Computer Engineering; Cyber Security / Network Security; Electrical Engineering; Systems Engineering; Aerospace Engineering; Mechanical Engineering.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to veterans of the United States Army who are entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study or will be enrolled in a graduate program for the upcoming academic year. Students must enroll full time and be committed to their chosen field, and their community.

Additional Information: Student Veterans of America and Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems have partnered to provide a scholarship to eligible veterans. This partnership will enable returning soldiers to pursue their education goals and position them for success in civilian professions. All applicants must demonstrate leadership and engagement in their community.

Award Amount: $10,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online on the Student Veterans of America (SVA) website. In addition to a completed online application, each student must submit the following documents: a current copy of his/her resume or curriculum vitae (CV); an unofficial copy of his/her current university transcript updated for the most recently completed semester; responses to the three essay questions listed on the SVA website (300 to 500 words per essay); a copy of his/her DD214 Certificate of Discharge; and one letter of reference from a professor, adviser, or supervisor (must be signed and on official letterhead). The letter must be sent by the author directly to SVA at the email or mailing addresses provided. All application components must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
