  1. Must be the immediate family member to an active duty or retired service member.
  2. Must be the immediate family member of an active or retired Chief Petty Officer.

Description: The Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) publicly supported charity organization. Candidates eligible for scholarship awards are non-uniformed spouses and dependent children (natural born, adopted or stepchildren) of all Chief Petty Officers of the United States Navy.

Application requirements for the Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Personal statement.

Additional Information: Candidates submitting scholarship applications must, in the year of submission of their scholarship application: • be about to graduate or have graduated from an accredited high school, or equivalent educational institution or have successfully earned a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) • must intend to enter, or be currently enrolled in a community college, vocational college, college or university to complete the curriculum prescribed in or to be graduated with an AA, AS, BA or BS degree. • must be the immediate family member of either an active duty, retired, reserve or deceased Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy (children may be natural, adopted or step-children) Recipients are notified by mail June to mid-July

Award Amount: The grant value is up to $2,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $100,000.

Applicants must submit three Letters of Recommendation, Proof of Eligibility, and 200-500 word Personal Statement. Also lists of honors, awards, extracurricular activities in school, community involvement The application can be mailed and must be signed by the applicant AND Parent, Sponsor or Guardian.
