Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a member, or the spouse or child of a member, of the U.S. Armed Forces or commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service.
  4. Must attend or plan to attend a Texas public college or university.
  5. Must be a high school senior or current college student.
  6. Must not currently be a resident of Texas but have met the requirements to pay resident tuition in 2003 or thereafter.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S students who are members of the U.S. Armed Forces or commissioned officers in the U.S. Public Health Service, and their spouse or child. Applicants must be attending a public college or university in Texas as a non-resident student.

Additional Information: The student's eligibility to pay tuition and fees at the rate provided for Texas students does not terminate because the person, spouse or parent is no longer a member of the U.S. Armed Forces or commissioned Officer of the U.S. Public Health Service.

Award Amount: This award is for a waiver of non-resident tuition. The value of the waiver is the difference between the non-resident and resident tuition rate. Awards are effective for as long as the student remain continuously enrolled in the same degree or certificate program in subsequent terms or semesters. Summer enrollment is not required to maintain "continuous" status.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,730.
