Still considered a large minority group in the United States, African-American students pursuing higher education can find abundant scholarship opportunities to help them achieve their dreams. Some of the scholarships in this category require students to be first-generation minority students, other simply require that students demonstrate financial need. Regardless of the specific requirements, African-American students are still underrepresented at many colleges and universities. Lagrant Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

This award is available for U.S. undergraduates with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher who are of either African, Asian/Pacific, Hispanic, or Native American heritage. The applicant must major in a field of study that has an emphasis on public relations, marketing or advertising; or must minor in communications with desire to pursue a career in public relations, marketing or advertising.
