In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of Hillsborough County, Florida.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must demonstrate financial need by qualifying for free or reduced cost school lunches.
  4. Must be African American.
  5. Must be female.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  7. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: This scholarship is available for high school juniors and seniors in Hillsborough county. Applicants must be African American, female, and must demonstrate financial need through eligibility in her current high school's free or reduced-cost school lunch program.

Additional Information: This scholarship is provided each year by the local Gamma Theta Omega Chapter, and it is awarded to a high school junior or senior in Hillsborough County who demonstrates academic potential as well as financial need. Applicants must be women of African American heritage, and must qualify for free or reduced-cost lunches through her current high school.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
