Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number awards given vary.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Must be a college sophomore (class of 2022) at the time of application, and enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university.
  3. Must be an African-American student.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must major in elementary or secondary education.

Description: UNCF has helped more than 500,000 students earn their college degrees since its founding. UNCF is the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority group members. The UNCF-Ralph Lauren Scholarship was established to assist seniors in bridging the financial gap to complete their undergraduate college education.

Additional Information: In order to qualify for the Zenobia V. Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria: • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA). • Have a demonstrated unmet, financial need as verified by their college or university. • Be a college sophomore (class of 2022) at the time of application, and enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university. • Be an African American student majoring in elementary or secondary education. • Be a US citizen. • As part of the application process, provide proof of 15 hours of completed community service hours, and in each semester thereafter while receiving the scholarship. • Students who graduated from a DCPS high school are encouraged to apply

Award Amount: The amounts vary.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
