In an effort to diversify their campuses, many colleges and universities offer scholarships for minority students, including Hispanics and Latinos. Many organizations, such as the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), are committed to assisting Hispanic and Latino students find free money for college. Our Scholarship Directory contains many awards for students with a Hispanic ethnic background. In many cases, students must also satisfy other eligibility requirements, such as participation in a sport or a stellar grade point average. Rene Hernandez Scholarship

The Rene Hernandez Scholarship is available for first-generation Hispanic students who attend a high school in Travis and Williamson counties of Texas. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The SHPE Austin Scholarship is provided for Hispanic students who are planning to major in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). Applicants must be graduating seniors or undergraduate students at a high school or college in the Austin, Texas area. Eligible counties include Travis, Hays, and Williamson, TX.

This award is available for Latin American citizens who have completed at least two years in an undergraduate program or are currently enrolled in a graduate program at one of MPOWER's partner universities. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.

The Flor Maria Rigsby Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be of Hispanic heritage.

Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship

This award is available to Kansas undergraduate minority students who are planning to enroll at a Kansas college or university. Students must demonstrate financial need and must be identified as members of any of the following ethnic/racial groups: African American, American Indian or Alaskan Native; Asian or Pacific Islander; or Hispanic. Awarding priority is given to eligible renewals and freshmen students.
