Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must be accepted to or currently enrolled in an AATA-approved degree program.
  3. Must plan to pursue a career in art therapy.
  4. Must be a minority student.
  5. Must demonstrate unmet financial need.
  6. Must be pursuing a master's degree in art therapy.
  7. Must be a member of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA).

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. students who are members of an ethnic minority group. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and acceptance or enrollment in an American Art Therapy Association (AATA) approved art therapy program.

Additional Information: This award is designed for the purchase of books, this fund is available to members of an ethnic minority group who can demonstrate financial need and acceptance or enrollment in an American Art Therapy Association approved art therapy program. Students applying for this award are strongly encouraged to attend the conference.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications and information are available at the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) website. To access the online application form, students must be a registered member of the AATA. In addition to the completed application form, students must submit the following items: two signed recommendation letters that include the recommender's contact information; official transcripts; a personal essay not exceeding two pages; and documentation confirming enrollment or acceptance in an AATA-approved art therapy program. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
