In an effort to diversify their campuses, many colleges and universities offer scholarships for minority students, including Hispanics and Latinos. Many organizations, such as the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), are committed to assisting Hispanic and Latino students find free money for college. Our Scholarship Directory contains many awards for students with a Hispanic ethnic background. In many cases, students must also satisfy other eligibility requirements, such as participation in a sport or a stellar grade point average. University of Iowa Advantage Iowa Award

This award is available for U.S students who are planning to attend the University of Iowa as first-year students. Students must contribute to a diverse learning environment at the University of Iowa. Awards are based on academic achievement.

RMHC/Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources (HACER) Scholarship of S. California

This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors who have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage. Students must reside within the Southern California counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura; and must have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.

RMHC/HACER National Scholarship Program

U.S. high school seniors of Hispanic descent may apply for this scholarship. Students must be less than 21 years of age at time of application.

UNF Minority Community College Transfer Scholarship

This scholarship is available for Florida students who are planning to transfer to the University of North Florida and are members of a minority group. Awarding is based on financial need and/or merit and other select criteria.

Minot State Cultural Diversity Award

This scholarship is available for minority students who are attending Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.25 or higher.

Montgomery Summer Research Diversity Fellowship

This award is available for U.S. students who are currently enrolled as college sophomores or juniors and will add diversity to the field of law and social science (e.g., ethnic minority, disabled, LGBTQ, etc.). To be eligible, the applicant must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and be working toward a degree in the social sciences or humanities.

Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship

This scholarship is available for Illinois resident undergraduate and graduate students who are African American/Black, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native American origin and planning to become preschool, elementary or secondary school teachers. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

This award is available for minority students who are currently enrolled in a fitness or nutrition program at an accredited California college or university. This award is available for students who are enrolled in a California culinary arts school. Students must be of African-American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian-American, Pacific Islander or Latino/Hispanic ethnicity.

CANFit Graduate Scholarship

This award is available for minority students currently enrolled in a graduate program for nutrition, public health nutrition, physical education, or an American Dietetic Association-approved pre-professional practice program at an accredited California college or university. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have completed 12 to 15 units of graduate course work at the time of application.
