Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student.
  3. Must be a resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington state.
  4. Must be gay, lesbian, or transgendered.
  5. Must major in a degree leading to a career in social work.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Description: This award is available for gay, lesbian, or transgendered students who are enrolled as undergraduate or graduate students majoring in social work. Applicants must be a resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington.

Additional Information: Recognizing the tremendous financial need of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students, as well as straight ally students in the region, Pride Foundation began its scholarship program to help develop tomorrow's leaders that work for social justice. Since 1993 the foundation has helped hundreds of students achieve their educational goals. The applicant will be notified by early April confirming whether he/she has been selected for the interview stage of the scholarship process (students who have not been selected will also be notified). Final selection of scholarship recipients will be made in late April or early May.

Award Amount: $500 to $12,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.
