This year, there will be more Hispanic students starting college than any other minority group. College costs can be too expensive for many students, but scholarships are available. Many organizations, such as the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), are committed to assisting Hispanic and Latino students find free money for college. To qualify for scholarship money, Hispanic students should plan to show a good GPA and also good test scores. But, these aren’t the only factors for receiving scholarship money. Always check the rules and requirements for scholarships. CGSM Fellowship for Talented Minorities

Students with a bachelor's degree who are planning to pursue a graduate degree full time at one of the Consortium-member schools are eligible for this award. Students must be African-American, Hispanic-American or Native-American and be planning to pursue a managerial career in business, government or non-profit organizations.

Brian M. Day Scholarship

This award is for Puget Sound area gay men of color who are U.S. citizens and have significant financial need and demonstrate activism in the gay/lesbian community and communities of color.

This scholarship is available for Latino/Latina youth under age 25 with a preference for students involved in athletics and students committed to LGBT equality.

Deloris Carter Hampton Scholarship

This award is available for U.S. women of color who have a demonstrated history of activism and/or leadership in the LGBT community and are pursuing a degree in education, women's health, or dance. Applicants must be residents of Washington state, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska.

Portland General Electric Scholarship

This award is for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) students, and/or the children of GLBT parents. Applicants must be residents of Oregon or Clark County, Washington, for at least one year prior to submitting an application.

This award is for Hispanic high school seniors and undergraduates who are residents of Forsyth County, NC. Applicants must have previously enrolled in an English as a Second Language course.

This award is available for female and minority undergraduate students who are majoring in engineering. Applicants must also plan to pursue a career in the water supply industry.

The Holly A. Cornell scholarship is available for female and/or minority students in pursuit of advanced training in the field of water supply and treatment. Applicants must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university.

Pride Foundation Associates in Behavioral Health Scholarship

This award is available for gay, lesbian, or transgendered students who are enrolled as undergraduate or graduate students majoring in social work. Applicants must be a resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington.

This scholarship is available for African-American and Hispanic high school seniors residing in Hillsborough County, Florida. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, and must enroll at Hillsborough Community College.
