Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In 2015, one scholarship was awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled in an aviation program.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be Native American.
  5. Must be of college junior standing or higher.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Description: U.S. students who have achieved a junior class standing or higher and are enrolled in an aviation program are eligible for this award. Students must be Native American and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: Eligibility for this scholarship is unrelated to membership in AAAE. The following selection criteria are used: race, academic records, financial need, participation in school and community activities, work experience, and a personal statement. Recipients will be required to submit three wallet-size photos upon notification.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) website. As part of the application, the student must provide financial data for his/her parents. Data must be from the IRS form which contains income data for the current fiscal year (forms to be filed/submitted by April 15). In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: a recent transcript or copy of his/her grades (may be unofficial); a recommendation from a school official, teacher, or guidance counselor; and a typed personal statement stating his/her educational goals and how they relate to his/her career goals (must be on separate sheet of 8 x 10 paper). The transcript and recommendation may be in separate and sealed envelopes but it is strongly suggested that they be submitted along with this application. Completed applications must be mailed to the address provided and be postmarked by the deadline date.
