$1,600 annually ($800 per semester, fall/spring or both), not automatically renewable. Recipients must reapply annually and are required to: attend orientation in August of the award year; and maintain a 2.0 grade point average if a need-based recipient, or maintain a 3.0 grade point average if a merit-based recipient.
The number of awards may vary. It is anticipated that one to eight awards will be given this year.
The Minority Community College Transfer Scholarship is a competitive award granted to qualified minority students, at Florida International University, who are Florida residents on the basis of financial need, academic merit, or both. All students must meet the following criteria: have fulfilled College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) requirements; and have met the eligibility requirements of Section 240.404, Florida Statutes, for award of state financial aid.
