Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be female.
  3. Must be age 28 or older at the time of application.
  4. Must be entering college for the first time or returning after a five-year absence.
  5. Must enroll at least half-time (six to eight hours).
  6. Must enroll at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for part time and full time female students at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Applicants must be 28 or older at the time of application, and must be returning to college after at least a five year absence from education.

Additional Information: Students with financial need who have not attended college for the past five years may apply for this 'start up' award. This scholarship can be used for tuition for college credit or certificate programs and for child care, transportation, or other educational expenses while attending college.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

To be considered for this award, students must complete the online scholarship application form. The form can be accessed through the student's web account by clicking on the 'Scholarships' link in the right side of his/her homepage. In addition to the completed aplication form, students must also submit responses to the supplemental questions listed, as well as a one-page essay about why they feel they deserve the award. Students must also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date to ensure consideration for the upcoming semester.
