Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have a disability. For the purposes this fund, 'individuals with a disability' means those individuals having mental retardation, hearing impairments, speech and language impairments, visual impairments, emotional disturbances, orthopedic impairments, autism, traumatic brain injury or other health impairments, specific learning disabilities or multiple disabilities who, because of their needs, require special education or related services.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must have a desire for formal instruction or training in a particular vocation, academic, athletic or artistic field.
  5. Must be Italian or Italian-American.
  6. Must be Catholic.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. students who have a desire for formal instruction or training and are disabled, the instructor of a disabled person, or the custodial adult of a disabled person. The applicant must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll at an institution of higher learning.

Additional Information: The purpose of this fund is to identify and develop academic, athletic, vocational and creative arts skills that may advance individuals with a disability toward greater independence. Grants are available to individuals so they may participate in formal instruction or training. Please note: Applicants do not have to be Catholic or Italian to apply for this award. There is no age requirement for this award.

Award Amount: Approximately $200 to $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $350.
