Students must demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, assistance to their community, and a well-thought-out educational plan. Students must be able to attend an interview with a staff member of Jewish Child and Family Services during the period between March 7 and April 1. If selected as a winner, the student must be able to receive his/her award at the Annual Meeting of the HIAS Chicago board of directors, to be held on June 21.
