Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually, based on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior at the time of application.
  4. Must be recognized through the National Hispanic Recognition Program.
  5. Must plan to attend Indiana University-Bloomington.
  6. Must be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino.

Description: This award is for U.S. high school students who are planning to attend Indiana University-Bloomington. Students must be recognized through the National Hispanic Recognition Program.

Application requirements for the Indiana University-Bloomington National Hispanic Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: Indiana University-Bloomington offers scholarships in recognition of student success in a variety of national scholar programs. This scholarship is offered to all admitted students who are recognized through the National Hispanic Recognition Program. Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for an additional three years by maintaining a cumulative program grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Students can view information about this award online at the Indiana University-Bloomington college website. There is no specific application required for this award. Students who are recognized through the National Hispanic Recognition Program are automatically considered for the award upon admissions to Indiana University. To apply, students must apply for admission to Indiana University. Interested students must contact Indiana University admissions by phone, e-mail, mail, or website to request an application packet, or apply online from the college website. There is a processing fee for applying. In addition to the application fees students must submit the following materials to be considered for admission: Official high school transcript; SAT/ACT scores; and a complete Counselor Signature form (PDF available online). For scholarship consideration, all application materials for admission must be submitted online or postmarked by November 1. Students must be enrolled in the fall term following his/her high school graduation date.
