Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 100 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a member of the Penobscot Nation.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must be a high school senior or undergraduate student at the time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for Penobscot Nation undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. Students must be high school graduates or older to apply.

Additional Information: The Penobscot Nation Scholarship provides scholarship assistance to members of the Penobscot Nation who are seeking to earn their baccalaureate degrees through a properly accredited higher education institution. Scholarship awards are determined by the Penobscot Nation Higher Education Committee and are based on financial need.

Award Amount: Up to $1,200 per semester. The award is not automatically renewable, but previous recipients are invited to re-apply each semester they are eligible.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,200.

Applications are available by contacting the Penobscot Nation using the contact information listed. The completed application must be postmarked by June 15 for the fall semester, Nov. 15 for the spring semester, and May 1 for summer classes (if funding is available.)
