Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a minority student.
  2. Must be a resident of Michigan.
  3. Must be pursuing a major in law, either at law school, or in an undergraduate paralegal program.
  4. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.
  5. Must demonstrate unmet financial need.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: This award is available for minority students in Michigan who are pursuing a higher education in law. Additional Information: The Grand Rapids Community Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships annually, primarily to Kent County students bound for or in college, or those pursuing a technical career. Each year, the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd provide at least two scholarships to minority students in Michigan who are pursuing higher education in the law. At least one award will be provided to a student in law school, and at least one award will be provided to a student preparing for a career as a paralegal or legal secretary. Selection is based on financial need and academic performance.

Award Amount: Awards range from $500 to $5,000 depending on the student's unmet need and the availability of funds.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.
