Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must identify as Jewish and show meaningful involvement with the community.
  2. You and your family are legal and permanent residents in one of the following five counties JFCS serves: Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Northern Santa Clara.
  3. Must submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and can demonstrate financial need based on you and/or your family’s most recent federal tax return(s).
  4. Must be currently in good academic standing, according to the guidelines of your school, with a minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
  5. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or vocational program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Jewish Family and Children’s Services Scholarship is available for Jewish students to achieve their goals by providing them with loans and grants (scholarships). To be eligible, applicants must reside in one of the following California Counties: Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Northern Santa Clara.

Application requirements for the Jewish Family and Children’s Services Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • FAFSA
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript.
Additional Information: Since 1850, Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) main mission has been to assist teens and young adults to achieve their educational goals in life. JFCS receives financial support from many Jewish donors; foundations, families, and individuals, so their most deserving students can receive meaningful loans and grants to afford their college costs.

Award Amount: Scholarships are awarded in amounts ranging from $500 to $6,000. Awards are provided on a one-time basis and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applicants fill out a form on the provider website. You can apply after you have been accepted, or are currently enrolled in a state college, university, vocational training, or other accredited institution of higher learning. And once you have received your financial aid award from your educational institution. You will also need to have submitted a FAFSA , furnish transcripts and proof of residency in Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Northern Santa Clara.
