Community Colleges are often a great alternative to four-year colleges and universities. They are more likely to be close to home, tuition is usually much lower than the price of other in-state public universities, and most community colleges offer excellent educational opportunities across a variety of majors and vocational training programs. In many cases, two-year programs and Associate Degrees can even transfer seamlessly to those four-year programs later, when you're a little more certain about what, exactly, you want to study.

In addition to the low costs of community colleges in general, there are also a variety of additional scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities sponsored by the schools' charitable foundations, local businesses, and other outside organizations. Whether you're a first-time community college freshman, returning sophomore, or transferring from a community college to a four-year school, there are scholarships available that fit almost every student's situation.
