In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must not use any tobacco products.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
  5. Must graduate with an associate of arts degree from St. Johns River State College.
  6. Must plan to attend an institution in Florida's State University System.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  8. Must be a college sophomore at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available to U.S. citizens who graduate with an associate of arts degree from St. Johns River Community College and plan to attend a school in the Florida State University System. Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 and must not use tobacco products.

Application requirements for the C.L. Overturf, Jr. Endowed Scholarship are:

  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: The recipient must not use any tobacco products and be willing to provide, upon request, a written statement to that effect Some preference may be given to students who are applicants for housing through the Southern Scholarship Foundation.

Award Amount: The award covers full tuition and books (up to $3,000) annually for students attending a participating institution in the State University System of Florida. Awards may be renewable for one additional year provided that the student maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available on the St. Johns River State College (SJRSC) Foundation, Inc. website. The application must be completed online; paper applications are neither available nor accepted. In addition to a completed online application, the student must upload two letters of recommendation. Certain SJRSC scholarships may require additional documents; the student should carefully review the guidelines for all scholarships for which he/she is eligible. Students who are not currently enrolled at SJRSC must also submit a high school transcript. All application information must be submitted by the appropriate date for the semester for which the student wishes to receive funding. Please note: This scholarship is only available for the fall term.
