Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Nassau County, Florida.
  2. Must have graduated high school in the spring prior to application.
  3. Must apply to and attend Florida State College at Jacksonville.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for recently graduating high school seniors in Nassau County who are planning to attend Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 and enroll full time. Preference will be given to students who have participated in the Northeast Florida Boys and Girls Club.

Application requirements for the David F. Miller Freedom Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Supplemental question responses
Additional Information: This scholarship is open to recent Nassau County high school graduates, and preference will be given to participants of the Northeast Florida Boys and Girls Club.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

To be considered for this award, students must complete the online scholarship application form. The form can be accessed through the student's web account by clicking on the 'Scholarships' link in the right side of his/her homepage. To apply for the David F. Miller Freedom Scholarship, applicants must also submit short responses to the supplemental questions listed on the application form. Students must also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date to ensure consideration for the upcoming semester.
