Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies, based on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of North Carolina.
  4. Must be enrolled for six or more credit hours per semester.
  5. Must attend a North Carolina community college.
  6. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.

Description: This award is for North Carolina students who are enrolled at North Carolina community colleges. The student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA.

Additional Information: Eligibility is determined based on the same criteria as the Federal Pell Grant; students not eligible for the Federal Pell Grant may be considered for this grant based on their estimated family contribution as determined on the Student Aid Report (SAR). Students who have earned baccalaureate (four year) college degrees are ineligible.

Award Amount: Awards range from $150 to $1,500. The value will vary according to information generated from the student's Pell Grant application.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $700.
