In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must be a high school graduate or older.
  3. Must be a resident of Tennessee for at least one year prior to the start of the term/semester.
  4. Must enroll in a certificate or diploma program at a Tennessee Technology Center.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: This award is available to Tennessee residents who enroll in a certificate or diploma program at a Tennessee Technology Center (TTC). All eligible students who apply on time are automatically considered for this award.

Additional Information: The Wilder-Naifeh technical skills grant is a state program, administered by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, established to provide assistance to Tennessee students who are enrolled in a diploma or certificate at a Tennessee technology center operated by the board of regents of the state university and community college system. An eligible student may receive a Wilder-Naifeh technical skills grant for all course work required by the institution for a program of study leading to a certificate or diploma. Wilder-Naifeh technical skills grants may not be used for continuing education courses. No minimum number of hours of enrollment is required for eligibility for a Wilder-Naifeh technical skills Grant. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress in accordance with the standards and practices used for federal Title IV programs by the institution at which the student is enrolled.

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 annually.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Additional information about this award is available from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) College Pays website. To apply, eligible students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be received by July 1 for the Summer trimester, November 1 for the Fall trimester, and March 1 for the Winter/Spring trimester. Early application is recommended.
