Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies, all eligible students will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to attend Augsburg College in Minnesota.
  3. Must be the child or spouse of an Augsburg College alumni OR the sibling of a current Augsburg College student OR the child or spouse of an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) pastor.
  4. Must enroll as a full-time day student.
  5. Must be a high school senior or older and working towards his/her first bachelors degree.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. undergraduate students who are planning to attend Augsburg College in Minnesota. Students must be the child, spouse of an Augsburg College alumni or the sibling of a current Augsburg College student. Children and spouses of current Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) pastors are also eligible.

Application requirements for the Augsburg College Legacy Award are:

  • Application form

  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letters
  • Official test scores
Additional Information: The Augsburg Legacy Award program is available to full-time day students working toward their first bachelor's degree. Students who qualify for both the Legacy Award and Regents' Scholarship or Transfer Regents' Scholarship will receive only one award, whichever is higher.

Award Amount: Minimum awards of $13,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years by maintaining a grade point average of 2.0 at the end of each spring term.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $52,000.
