Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to attend Belhaven University, formerly Belhaven College, in Mississippi.
  3. Must enroll as a first-time freshman or transfer student and be seeking his/her first bachelors degree.
  4. Must demonstrate academic achievement. Freshmen students are considered based on their grade point average and SAT/ACT test scores. Transfer students are considered based on their college grade point average.
  5. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Additional Information: Merit scholarships are "open-ended" in that all full-time students who qualify and are seeking a first bachelors degree in the traditional undergraduate program will be considered to receive an award. Because funds are limited, the earlier an application is submitted, the more likely the student is to receive the maximum aid for which he/she qualifies.

Award Amount: $11,500 annually, renewable for up to three years as long as the student maintains a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $11,500.

Applications for admission are available online from the Belhaven University website. There is not a separate application for this award. Each student will be considered upon admission. A completed admissions application will include: the application, $25 application fee, transcripts, and SAT/ACT scores (incoming freshmen only).
