Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must be a resident of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas panhandle.
  5. Must exhibit community service and leadership.
  6. Must attend Amarillo College OR West Texas A&M University.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Graduating high school seniors who are residents of the 26 northernmost Texas panhandle counties and demonstrate community service are eligible for this award. Students must enroll at Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University.

Application requirements for the Benjamin Gimp Raffkind Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • IRS 1040
  • ACT/SAT scores
Additional Information: The Special consideration will be given to an applicant whose recommendation letters indicate specific ability or potential which may not be reflected in his/her grade point average. The recipient must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher while in college.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable pending committee review of renewal application.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
