Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually. The amount of awards offered is based on availability of funds through the private owner.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Must be enrolled at Florida State College of Jacksonville.
  3. Must be majoring in the fire science program.
  4. Must be enrolled part time or full time.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. students who are enrolled in the Fire Science program at Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ). Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and enroll in at least six credit hours per semester.

Application requirements for the Captain Robert C. Sorensen Endowed Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The recipient must be planning to enroll at FCCJ as a full-time student, and he/she must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or higher.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
