  4. Must be a high school junior, senior, or undergraduate student.

Description: The Chaffin Luhana Anti-Distracted Driving Scholarship is an essay contest open to currently enrolled U.S. students who are 25 years of age or younger. Applicants must submit an original essay offering a unique and practical perspectives on the dangers posed by distracted drivers.

Application requirements for the Chaffin Luhana Anti-Distracted Driving Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Students applying for the Chaffin Luhana Anti-Distracted Driving Scholarship must properly cite all statistics, data, surveys, studies, or news sources that are included within the essay. All submissions will be reviewed internally and the winner will be contacted within approximately four weeks of the deadline date. Essays will be evaluated on a combination of clarity, creativity, and proper use of cited information.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable. All funds must be spent on the following approved educational expenses: books, tuition, and/or housing.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications and information about this contest can be found online at the Chaffin Luhana LLC website by using the link provided. To be considered for this award, applicants must submit an essay of between 500 and 750 words in length that responds to one of the topic prompts related to distracted driving. When the essay has been completed, applicants must post the essay or a link to the essay on Facebook, Twitter, or another social media outlet. After completion, applicant must send essay submission to the provided online form. The application form include contact information for the applicant, as well as a link to the social media posting where the essay can be found online. Essays must also be uploaded, and the following formats are preferred: .doc, .docx, and .txt. All online applications must be submitted by email and must be received no later than the deadline date.
