Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student.
  2. Must have grown up in a non-traditional family.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: The Children of a Non-Traditional Family Scholarship is provided annually to current undergraduate or graduate students who grew up in a non-traditional household.

Application requirements for the Children of a Non-Traditional Family Scholarship are:

  • Resume
  • Official Transcript
  • Essay
Additional Information: The Children of a Non-Traditional Family Scholarship is provided annually by the Reidy Law Firm and is awarded to current undergraduate or graduate students who grew up in non-traditional households. Judges will favor essay submissions that emphasize the positive aspects of their non-traditional family life. Students should also include a brief addendum to the essay that explains how the funds will be spent if he or she is provided with the award. One scholarship winner will be selected and notified shortly following the deadline date.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and additional information about the Children of a Non-Traditional Family Scholarship are available online at the Reidy Law Office website and may be accessed using the provided links. To be considered for this award, students must submit an essay, a current resume, and an essay about growing up in a non-traditional household. Essays must be approximately 1,000 words in length and must address all of the topic points listed at the provider website. All materials must be submitted by email no later than the deadline date.
