Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund
$500 annually, non-renewable. Recipients may reapply for scholarship assistance each semester of study, but preference will be given to those students beginning their academic careers. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, utility bills, car maintenance, child care, etc.
The number of awards offered varies annually based on funding. On average, approximately 11 awards are offered annually.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide supplemental financial assistance to those single parents who are pursuing a course of instruction which will improve their income-earning potentials. Students must be recipients of a Pell Grant or be in the process of applying for one. Application for the Pell Grant is made by filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices.
