Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 25 to 35 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be 25 years of age or younger at time of application.
  3. Must be a current resident of China, Maine and have lived there for the past seven years.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors and undergraduate students who are residents of China, Maine and have lived there for the past seven years. Students must be 25 years of age or younger.

Additional Information: This scholarship program is for students who are living in China, Maine.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable. Recipients may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications are available at the China Town Office, China Primary School Office, China Middle School Office, Erskine Academy, and the Office of the Superintendent of Schools at the address provided. Applications are also available on the Town of China's website by clicking on the 'Town Departments' link, then clicking on the 'Town Clerk' link. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a statement of 50 words or less describing why he/she thinks that Doris Young established this scholarship, and a reference from a member of the China community who is not associated with his/her current or planned educational community.
