In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend Stratford University in Baltimore.
  2. Must have an interest in entrepreneurial activities.
  3. Must have an interest in the restaurant industry.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must reside in Baltimore.

Additional Information: This award is presented by the Restaurant Association of Maryland Education Foundation, on behalf of the Dopkin Family. Each year, this award is provided to a student at Stratford University in Baltimore who demonstrates an interest in both the restaurant industry and entrepreneurial activities.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in December for a refreshed application deadline date. ' Application information is available on the Restaurant Association of Maine Education Foundation (RAMEF) website. Application forms may be accessed by requesting information from the Stratford University Culinary Arts Department. In addition to the completed application, each college or high school applicant must submit the following materials: a photograph; a photocopy of his/her college curriculum; official sealed transcripts from his/her current high school or college; a pay stub from his/her most recent/current employer(s) providing evidence of industry-related work experience and record of additional work-related experience; a letter of recommendation from his/her supervisor; a letter of recommendation from a teacher; and a one-page response to the two essay questions on the application. An industry professional or teacher/instructor must submit the following additional materials: a photograph; a one-page response to the two essay questions on the application; a pay stub from his/her employer documenting 1,500 hours of industry experience, one letter of support and employment, and two letters of recommendation. Applications must be received by the deadline date to be considered for the following academic school year.
