Number of Awards & Eligibility: 15 awards offered annually. Additional scholarships are awarded if funds allow. Additional eligible applicants will be placed on a waiting list after the 15 scholarships have been awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must attend or plan to attend Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC).
  3. Must be a graduate of Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Maine.
  4. Must be accepted into or be currently enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program at EMCC.
  5. Must be enrolled on a half-time basis (six credit hours) or more.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher for the previous semester. Note: This requirement does not apply to those attending their first semester of college.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for college freshmen and sophomores who are currently attending Eastern Maine Community College. Students must be graduates of Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Maine, and have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Additional Information: Students applying for EMCC financial aid must also meet the following requirements: not be in default on any federal student loan program; not owe a refund on a federal grant; have a Social Security number with a current name; be registered with the Selective Service, if required; and be able to demonstrate financial need.

Award Amount: The award amount will cover full tuition charges at EMCC, renewable for every semester until graduation if the student maintains a grade point average of 2.5 or higher after the first semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,722.

To be considered for this scholarship, the student must complete the scholarship application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. The student must have also completed the EMCC Data Confirmation Form. There is no set deadline for this award. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Please note: EMCC's priority deadline date for filing the FAFSA for incoming first-year students is April 15.
