Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have been a resident of Northeast Florida (includes Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns counties) for the past two years.
  3. Must be a runner or be active in track and field events.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors who are runners or are active in track and field events. Students must have been residents of Northeast Florida (includes Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns counties) for the past two years.

Application requirements for the Florida Striders Track Club College Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letter
  • Essay
  • Official Transcript (opt.)
Additional Information: NCAA regulations may prohibit the student from receiving this scholarship if he/she attends college on an athletic scholarship.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. The award will be paid in two equal installments of $500, one per semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the Florida Striders Track Club (FSTC) website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit a personal reference from a professional person not related to him/her (examples of suitable persons include minister, teacher, scout leader, employer, etc.) and a 250- to 500-word essay on an aspect of running or a track and field event that has influenced his/her life (i.e., what does running mean to him/her personally). The applicant may also submit a high school transcript, but it is not required. The student should note that one section of the application must be completed by his/her guidance counselor. All applications must be received by the deadline date at the address provided. Emailed applications are not accepted.
