Additional Information: Ashland University is expanding their eSports program and they are seeking to recruit additional student gamers who are familiar with and active on Fortnite or any of the following video games: League of Legends; Overwatch; DOTA 2; Counter-Strike, Global Offensive; Starcraft 2; Starcraft, Brood War; Rocket League; Heroes of the Storm (HotS); Hearthstone; Super Smash Brothers; Vainglory; Paladins; Smite; Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG); Battlerite; Splatoon2; NBA2K; or FIFA Soccer. Applicants will be avaluated based on their provided experiences with gaming in both solo and team based play, and will be required to play for an audition and try-out event. Selected students will be awarded scholarships for attendance costs to Ashland University and will compete in the following eSports Leagues: National Association of Collegiate Esports, University League of Legends, Collegiate Starleague, TESPA, AVGL, and others. Recruited players will also have access to the university's state of the art gaming center with 25 high performance computers, gaming chairs, and two large screen TVs for coaching and spectator enjoyment.

Award Amount: Up to $4,000 annually, non-renewable. All scholarship funds will be applied directly to tuition, room & board, and other academic expenses.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $16,000.

Applications and additional information about the Fortnite Scholarship and Ashland University eSports Recruitment program are available online at the provided links. To be considered for this scholarship, students must complete the online application form and include details about their gaming history including games played, handles used, tournaments entered, and any other relevant professional or amateur video game experience. Although admissions are accepted on a rolling basis, the priority deadline for fall admissions and financial aid consideration is March 15. Applications for the fall semester will continue to be accepted through August 15, or approximately two weeks before the term begins.
