Awards of $3,000 will be granted to children of full-time associates. Awards of $1,500 will be granted to children of part-time associates. These awards are offered annually and are renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by the Humana Foundation. Awards are to be used for tuition, fees, books, room and board, or other related educational expenses.

The Humana Foundation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to the children of employees of Humana Inc., who plan to pursue a college degree. The Humana Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc., one of the nation's largest publicly traded health services companies. This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a department of Scholarship America. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability, or national origin. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, goals and aspirations stated in the application, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal as detailed in the scholarship application. Financial need is not considered. Recipients must enroll in a full-time course of study no later than the fall of the year following the awarding of the scholarship. Children of officers of Humana Inc. or its subsidiaries are ineligible to apply to the program.
