Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of Iowa.
  2. Must be a member of an Iowa Army or Air National Guard unit for each term he/she receives benefits. The student must satisfactorily complete required Guard training and must maintain satisfactory performance of Guard duty.
  3. Must be attending an eligible Iowa college or university.
  4. This award is for U.S students.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must pursue a certificate or undergraduate degree and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Please note: Students with BA degrees are not eligible to participate even if pursuing a second BA degree.

Description: This award is available to U.S undergraduate students who are members of the Iowa National Guard and plan to attend a postsecondary institution in Iowa.

Additional Information: The Iowa National Guard Service Scholarship provides annual awards to Iowa National Guard members who attend eligible Iowa colleges and universities. The Iowa Adjutant General determines eligibility.

Award Amount: Maximum individual awards cannot exceed the current average resident tuition rate at Iowa Regent Universities. The maximum award is $7,725 in the current academic year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,725.
