Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  3. Must graduate from a Baltimore city public high school.
  4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must major in pre-law, social work, or a field that focuses on child advocacy.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must be a resident of Maryland.

Additional Information: Jeanette Rosner Wolman earned her law degree in 1924 from the University of Maryland. Although admitted to the Maryland Bar Association, she campaigned for 30 years before she gained membership into the Baltimore City Bar Association which had not previously admitted minorities or women. Mrs. Wolman practiced law for 53 years with her husband in Baltimore. The applicant must be planning to attend a two-year or four-year college or university beginning with the fall semester.

Award Amount: $500 annually, renewable for three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Information about and applications for the award are available at the online portal of the CollegeBound Foundation. To access the application for these awards, the student must first register an online account. In addition to completing the CollegeBound Foundation Competitive Scholarship Application, the applicant must also submit the following: two letters of recommendation; a copy of his/her college acceptance letter(s); a typed essay addressing the topic listed on the application (if applicable); community service verification(s) (if applicable); and a copy of his/her recent high school transcript, including the first semester of the senior year. All application materials must be received by the deadline.
