Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must be a resident of Wappinger Falls, New York.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must demonstrate financial need or ability to overcome personal obstacles to education.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This award is available for high school seniors graduating from Roy C. Ketcham High Schoool in Wappinger Falls, New York. Applicants mus demonstrate academic merit, financial need, and achievement in overcoming personal obstacles.

Additional Information: To honor the memory of Melissa Bisaccia, her family has established this scholarship that is offered each year to seniors graduating from Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappingers, New York. The scholarship was created to assist in the financial expenses of students who have faced and overcome obstacles and challenges that might have prevented them from otherwise achieving their goal of pursuing higher education.

Award Amount: $500 to $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online from the Community Foundation of Hudson Valley website at the address provided. In addition to the completed application, each applicant must submit two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal); a copy of his/her most recent transcript; a copy of the student's Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information; and an essay of approximately 500 words responding to the prompt listed on the application. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
