Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. *Please note: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must be a resident of Canada.
  3. Must have a high school or transfer grade point average of 3.0 or higher (85%).
  4. Must plan to attend Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota.
  5. Must be an incoming freshman or transfer student.
  6. Must enroll in 12 or more credit hours per semester.
  7. Must have an ACT score of 18 or higher or a combined math and verbal SAT score of 860 or higher.
  8. Must plan to attend a college or university in North Dakota.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for incoming freshmen or transfer students at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota who are residents of a Canadian province other than Manitoba or Saskatchewan. Students must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Awards Program recipients may be eligible for other scholarships and/or grants.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $3,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,500.

To be considered for this award, the student must submit an application for admission to Minot State University (MSU). The admissions application is available online on the MSU website. A separate scholarship application is not required. In addition to a completed admissions application, the student must submit the following: an affidavit of support; a declaration of finances; proof of English language proficiency; official records demonstrating prior academic achievement; and a $35 non-refundable application fee. In addition to the above materials, transfer students must also submit the following: official or certified copies of all transcripts, submitted in both the original language and a certified literal English translation; and the 'International Student Transfer Form', which must be signed by the student's present or most recent international student adviser (if transferring from within the U.S.). The student must submit the complete admissions and scholarship application packet by the deadline date to be considered for scholarships.
