  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student.

Description: Scholarships are available for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a jewelry-related curriculum. Applicants are not required to be Rhode Island residents.

Additional Information: This is a national program. Applicants are NOT required to be Rhode Island residents for this award.

Award Amount: $500 to $2,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available on the Rhode Island Foundation website. The student must click on the "Scholarship/Fellowship Opportunities" link and then search for his/her desired scholarship to access the application. As part of the online application, the student must upload the following required documents: a completed 'Financial Information Worksheet' (accessible for download in the application); a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report), which is generated after filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); the most recent version of his/her student transcript (unofficial accepted); one recommendation letter from a teacher or other professional who can attest to his/her character and specific qualifications that would make him/her a worthy candidate for this award; an essay that briefly describes his/her program of study and reason for choosing the program; work samples, to consist of three to five images of jewelry pieces that show the pieces being worn (.jpg format recommended); and a numbered list of images including image file name, title of work, date completed, medium and dimensions, and a brief narrative. Documents must be in Word, Excel, or PDF formats (except for work samples). File names should describe the attachment. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
