Number of Awards & Eligibility: It is MSU's intent to award this scholarship to all qualified students who apply; however, MSU reserves the right to limit the number of scholarships based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply for admission early.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must enroll as a full-time student in the year he/she graduates high school.
  2. Must be an incoming freshman. The student must graduate from a high school accredited by a state education agency or a regional accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE).
  3. Must be lawfully present in the United States.
  4. Must plan to attend Missouri State University (Springfield campus).
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must not be a resident of Missouri.
  7. Must be the child or grandchild of a Missouri State University graduate.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. high school seniors who plan to attend Missouri State University and are not Missouri residents. The student must be the child or grandchild of a Missouri State graduate.

Application requirements for the MSU Continue the Tradition Fee Waiver Program are:

Additional Information: This waiver can be combined with any of the other freshman scholarships that do not already provide a waiver of out-of-state fees.

Award Amount: This award provides a full waiver of out-of-state fees. The current value is approximately $6,480 annually for a student taking 30 credit hours. The award is renewable for three additional years if the student completes 24 or more credit hours each academic year and maintains a cumulative MSU grade point average of 2.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $25,920.

Program information is available online on the Missouri State University (MSU) website. To apply for this program, the student must apply for admission to MSU and submit a program application. Admissions information is available online at www.missouristate.edu/admissions/apply.htm. Program applications are available on the MSU financial aid website. While there is no application deadline, students are encouraged to apply early to be considered for scholarships which do have deadlines. Most MSU scholarships have a Jan. 15 deadline.
