Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund
Approximately $500 a semester, depending on funding. Scholarships are non-renewable, but applicants may reapply each semester if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements. Students are eligible for three scholarships per academic year.
The number of awards offered varies per semester.
The purpose of the Northwest Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund is to provide supplemental financial assistance to those single parents who are pursuing a course of instruction that will improve their income-earning potential. Students must have received a Pell Grant or be in the process of obtaining one. To apply for a Pell Grant, the student must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. After the issue of funds, each scholarship recipient will be asked to supply a general end-of-semester accounting of how he/she used this financial assistance.
